Speakers will include Green Presidential Candidate Howie Hawkins, Green State Rep Candidate John Keating (IL-96), and other Green candidates from around the state.

Hawkins, a retired teamster, is the Original Green New Dealer, the first person to run on the platform in 2010, and a co-founder of the Green Party in the United States. He is running for President, with his running mate Angela Walker, a truck driver from South Carolina, to put real solutions on the table for the life and death issues of the COVID pandemic, the climate crisis, spiraling inequality, and stopping the new nuclear arms race. Hawkins has been nominated by the Green Party US and Socialist Party USA, and has been endorsed by Socialist Alternative, the Legal Marijuana NOW Party of Minnesota, the Independent Socialist Group, Workers’ Liberty, Student Loan Justice, and several DSA Local Chapters, including Central Illinois DSA.
