Event Details

Meet Howie Hawkins for a lively discussion about Eco-Socialism. Howie Hawkins is an American politician and activist with the Green Party of the United States. He is currently seeking the presidential nomination of the Green Party in 2020.

Hawkins was New York’s Green Party candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2006. In 2010, Hawkins ran as the Green Party’s candidate for Governor of New York and restored ballot status for the party by receiving more than the necessary 50,000 votes. In 2014, Hawkins ran again for the same office. He received nearly five percent of the vote and moved the Green Party to Line D on the ballot. Hawkins ran a third time for Governor of New York in 2018.

Howie Hawkins will meet local Greens and help with fundraising for Ballot Access in Arizona.

This Green Party event is a Potluck and Zero Waste event. Please feel free to bring plant-based snacks and desserts to share. This will be a Zero Waste event, please bring your own liquid and serving containers. Single use plastic water bottles will not be provided. We will also be supporting a local bank with donations from attendees. Please bring dried foods such as rice or beans for the donation bin. (Zero Waste means that we will not be contributing to any landfills, please be mindful to only bring containers that can be reused or recycled.)
