Petitioning is now underway in Virginia! To assure the eventual Green Party nominee a place on the November ballot, volunteers will need to collect 2,500 valid petition signatures by August 21st, 2020. This means we will actually need to collect around 4,000 raw signatures.
Normally we would have to collect double the number, 5,000 signatures. However, the Green Party of Virginia was successfully able to lobby the state for relief, and received a reduction in the number of required signatures.
While the petition is a candidate petition and not a party petition, it does allow the candidate to be listed as a Green Party candidate on the ballot.
