Indiana is without a doubt one of the most restrictive states in the country for independent and third party ballot access. So restrictive in fact that the Green Party of Indiana has never held a statewide ballot line in the state, nor has it ever placed our Presidential/Vice-Presidential nominees on the ballot.
The State of Indiana required the collection of over 46,000 valid signatures to place Howie and Angela on the general election ballot prior to June 30th, 2020. This requirement is so high that no third party has been successful in placing their Presidential candidate on the ballot since the year 2000 when the required number was significantly lower.
There is a court case ongoing right now to challenge the unconstitutionally high requirements. The goal is to get the requirements significantly reduced, opening the door for future elections. Unfortunately this will not provide us relief in this election cycle. This means that voters in Indiana will have to write-in Howie on their ballot this November. Howie has filed all necessary paperwork there to have his write-in votes counted this November. So please write-in Howie! Your vote will be counted!
